The Rest of Volume 5 is the remaining chapters of Volume 5 after the end of the English translation Graveyard of a Queen. Most of volume 5 was included in Graveyard of a Queen.

After Zhang Qiling loses his memories, Wu Xie and Pangzi look for clues to his past. They find Brother Chu who has a mysterious photo of a ghost from Golmud Sanatorium.

Plot[]
After putting out the word for help looking into Qiling's past, Wu Xie is contacted by Brother Chu. While still in prison, he sent Wu Xie a photo that contained a man seemingly hanging in mid-air behind a screen. On the back of the photo, in Brother Chu's handwriting, is "1984, Golmud People’s Liberation Army Sanatorium."[1] Wu Xie visited Brother Chu in prison to discuss the photograph. Brother Chu revealed that he got the photo from Uncle Three who asked him to investigate Chen Wenjin and the missing archeological team. It turns out that after the team disappeared they were kept captive at the same Golmud Sanatorium.
Brother Chu told the story of Qiling before he joined the Xisha archeological team when he was in Guangxi being used as a corpse bait. Qiling was left in a tomb with zombies by the grave robbers when it appeared too dangerous to enter. Later, Chen Pei Ah Si and his men made plans to rob the same tomb and discovered Qiling, who had killed the zombies himself. Qiling then began to work under Chen Pei Ah Si.
Brother Chu began to investigate Qiling's past in Guangxi and found that he had lived in a small village called Banai. He found Qiling's place and stole the photo he described earlier from this place intending to show Uncle Three. Because the area was in Chen Pai Ah Si's territory, Brother Chu was caught by him and forced to make a deal regarding Uncle Three. Brother Chu would not elaborate any further as to not upset Uncle Three again.
Pangzi, Wu Xie, and Qiling traveled to Banai and stayed with a local guide named Agui. While staying at his house, they discover an old photo on the wall of Chen Wenjin and Agui's father that was taken a few decades ago. Agui explained that there was an expedition team that stayed in Yangjiao Mountain. Agui's father was supposed to return to the mountains to tend to the expedition team every three days. However, one day he went earlier than normal and discovered that the tents were empty. He went looking for the missing expedition team the whole day. And the next day when he went to the place where the team was staying they were back. Wu Xie and Pangzi secretly suspect they are robbing a grave in the mountain.
Agui recounts from some elders that there was an old village in the ravine, possibly from the Ming dynasty. However, a war broke out and the village was destroyed by a fire. Agui promises to look for a guide that can take them up to Yangjiao Mountain in the next couple of days.
During the night, Wu Xie discovers there is a shadow staring at him from the next building. Seemingly the same one from the picture that Brother Chu showed him. The room the shadow was in turned out to be Agui's son and Wu Xie thought nothing of the matter.
In the meantime, Wu Xie, Pangzi, and Qiling went to the address of Qiling's former place of residence. There they found a black iron box hidden under the floorboards of Qiling's bed. Because of Qiling's bad feeling about opening the box, it remained sealed. And in an attempt to remain free from suspicion, the group put the box back only for a thief to attempt to steal it. In the struggle, the box's lock mechanism was broken and its contents spilled out (to be continued in Volume 6).
